Hello folks,
So, it’s been a week, and an eye-opening one at that. My “new” weight has stayed the same, despite integrating “real” food back into my diet. However, I can honestly say I’m addicted to my morning shake. I look forward to it after my morning workout ritual with the dog. This would be a good opportunity to share that with you as well:
So, I have this great dog named Dexter:

Dex taking a breather during our morning ball romp/ workout
Dex is a total *baller*. He’s relentless and insatiable. I bring out one of my old racquetball racquets and hit him a racquetball for about 30 minutes every morning. Rather than stand around while he’s going to get it, I’ve come up with a great core workout to do at the same time. So, it’s a win/win. Here’s how it goes. Assume that I hit the ball 50 yards or so, and Dex is off to the races. In the meantime, I do:
8-10 sets of push ups, 10 reps each “hit”. For a cumulative total of about 80-100 push ups per session
5-8 sets of the “plank”, which is where you place your elbows and toes on the ground, and extend your body to be stiff…like a plank of wood. Great ab/core workout. Looks like this:

Not the author...but you can see that hanging onto this for a minute could be tough...
So, I’ll do 5-8 sets of that, probably 30 seconds to 1 minute each, depending on how fast Dex gets to me.
Then we’ll go over to the other side of the park, to the jungle gym. I’ll hit the ball and do
3 sets of pull-ups, various varieties. Wide grip, narrow grip, reverse grip, etc.
Just those THREE exercises and you will notice a difference in your body in a few days. Your abs, neck, shoulders and chest will be firmer, and more defined. And it’s a great way to squeak in a workout for busy people. Just use what you have available where YOU live. Be creative.
